This Bottle was found on the beach on Middleton Island in December 1956..and was part of what is called Canadien Drift Bottle Program initiated by the Pacific Oceanographic Group established June 25, 1956..
   The purpose was to determine the average speed and course of the surface currents of the northeast Pacific Ocean. It proposed to release 15,000 drift bottles  in lots of 1000.  The note inside the bottle requested infor mation such as date, time and location of the bottle at the time of the find. A coupon was also inclosed which paid the finder $1.00 reward for sending in the information requested on the note...
